Following a degree in Biomedical Science at the University of East London, for which she gained a first-class honors, Cynthia moved to Imperial College, London, where she obtained an MSc in Molecular Biology and the Pathology of Viruses, passing with distinction. She then returned to the University of East London, where she gained a PhD in Immunology, working under the supervision of Dr Susan Outram. Her area of interest was hedgehog protein signalling, in particular looking at how these proteins regulate B-cell development. During this time, having honed her skills for digesting complex scientific content, she decided to combine her love for science and her passion for writing in order to pursue a career in medical communications. Cynthia now works as a Medical Writer for the Lymphoma Hub. She also writes for other educational platforms including the AML Global Portal, the Multiple Myeloma Hub and the GvHD Hub.
